This project came to completion pretty organically. I first designed and sculpted the parasite for a creature modeling course, mostly drawing inspiration from shell-fishes. So, it was only fitting that when I wanted to take the creature into a full scene, I set it underwater. Plus, it was the perfect excuse to explore the underwater look in compositing.
The parasites were sculpted and painted within ZBrush. Designing in 3D was an interesting experience and had to heavily rely on good references. Since the whole idea here was to conceptualize a creature, topology was out the window and , oh my god, sculpting was a lot of fun.
